New York, NY

Resume and About Me

Maxwell Beck Seelig was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in its vibrant theatre scene. Maxwell discovered his love of theatre when he was cast as the titular role in his preschool production of The Little Red Hen. Although the role is traditionally performed by an actress, Ms. Cindy was ahead of her time in terms of nontraditional casting.

Maxwell trained in acting, singing, and dance while performing in various regional productions. He was also given the opportunity to direct several school productions. Maxwell has been a part of amateur and professional productions consistently since grade school.

Today, Maxwell Beck Seelig lives in New York where he works as a performer and director. When not onstage, Maxwell can be found cooking, playing with his dog, Cooper, or out on the town with friends.

Some of his favorite acting credits include Pippin in Pippin, Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, Damian in Mean Girls, Kulygin in Three Sisters, and Jack in Into the Woods.

Maxwell has worked with Diane Paulus as Assistant Director for Life on Mars and as Directing Intern for Masquerade.

Whether in a modern musical or Shakespearean drama, as a performer or director, Maxwell loves nothing more than the creative collaboration of producing work for a live audience.
